Portfolio Reviews & Mentoring

organized by Prague Quadrennial / Arts and Theatre Institute (ATI)

August 28, 2018–June 16, 2019

Cardiff, UK & Prague, CZ

Portfolios are one of the essential tools artists and creatives use to introduce themselves to potential collaborators and employers, often showcasing not only their work, but their approach and philosophy. In organizing a series of portfolio reviews, we created opportunities for emerging artists to receive feedback on their portfolio and introduce established professionals to emerging creators to generate international collaboration opportunities.

  • August 30 – September 2, 2018, Cardiff:  An international gathering of theatre practitioners was hosted by The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff in celebration of The International Organization of  Scenographers, Theatre Architects, and Technicians’ (OISTAT) 50th Anniversary. In connection with these events, a portfolio review between established and emerging practitioners was organized with the aim of employability.

  • Mentor meetings: Throughout the projects, mentoring sessions was organized in the form of informal coffee or café meetings to connect established artists and emerging creators.

  • June 12-14, 2016, Prague: Utilizing the large international gathering for PQ 2019 and Prague’s central location, we organized meetings between emerging designers and artistic directors from EU theatres to encourage the employment of emerging designers across political borders and create international collaborations.
